  • WHAT HAPPENED?

    Liverpool lost their No.20 following a car accident earlier in the summer, with Jota travelling back to Merseyside having undergone surgery and being advised not to fly. Since then, hundreds of tributes have flooded across the football world, with the Premier League also set to pay its respects to the Portuguese pair ahead of each match on the opening weekend.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

    The Community Shield marked a return for Liverpool to competitive action at the weekend. Despite a loss to Crystal Palace on penalties, the match was marred by a disruption during the moment of silence, which saw it cut short after Eagles fans started shouting during the tribute.
